Senwes is seeking the services of a dynamic Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for the complete engineering management discipline regarding projects, maintenance, compliance and management of mechanical infrastructure within the industrial, commercial and residential asset portfolio of Senwes.
What you'll need:
* 3 years’ experience within the relevant field mechanical engineering and plant maintenance with the following preferable accreditation:
* Member of ECSA (Engineer Council of South Africa)
* Member of SAIMECHE (South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering)
* Government Certificate of Competency: Factories (GCC)
* Engineering Management (Mech)
* Engineering Design (Mech)
* Project Management (Mech)
* Plant Maintenance (Mech)
* Plant Optimization (Mech)
* SAP & SAP Plant Maintenance
What you'll be doing:
• Planning, budgeting and prioritization of proposed works for the financial year by way of asset assessment, whereby risk scores are assigned to each function defined within the discipline framework, by way of actions wrt foreman, artisan, artisan assistant and contractors, demonstrating improvement on quality and accurateness of process by way of Portfolio management register, client satisfaction wrt the budget process
• Maintain, or improve, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems.
• Conduct Mechanical Infrastructure Audits.
• Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
• Compile data and write reports regarding existing engineering studies or projects.
• Direct construction activities and ensure compliance to technical standards.
• Complete end to end planning & coordination of all processes and determine priorities and planning.
• Evaluate and appoint contractors.
• Conduct inspection on work done.
• Approve quotations and material quality and quantity.
• Provide technical advice on maintenance.
• Communicate priorities with clients and suppliers.
• Keep abreast of technical enhancement within the Mechanical & Grain industry.
• Upgrade, replace and maintain assets.
• Design or Engineer systems to efficiently and implement design or process improvements.
• Improve production efficiency and optimisation of fixed and variable cost spending.
• Perform risk assessments.
• Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety requirements
• Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational, safety, or environmental standards.
• Conduct Mechanical Infrastructure Inspections & Audits to determine if they meet specifications or standards.
• Investigate specific problem areas
• Manage appointed specialized technical experts to compile technical audit reports.
• Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies for mechanical engineering projects.
• Direct engineering activities ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations.
• Investigate complaints to determine the nature and extent of problems.
• Developing capital project programs for new equipment or major repairs.
• Identify customer requirements and liaise with clients & contractors.
• Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
• Lead internal & external role players as part of multidisciplinary project team to achieve project management objectives by way of co-ordinate work with other disciplines such as Civil, Electrical & Commercial
• Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications and provide specialist technical input.
• Compile CAPEX for project & estimate operational costs, estimate labour, material, or construction costs for budget preparation purposes.
• Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labour to determine project feasibility.
• Upon approval determine extent of project and follow tender process if necessary.
• Prepare specifications for purchases of materials or equipment.
• Evaluate tenders for prices and technical know-how of contractors.
• Appoint suitable contractors.
• Manage projects using engineering principles & techniques and oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Management of assigned responsibility business and/or technical unit defined as the industrial asset portfolio and business unit, demonstrating responsibility, management, planning, execution and reporting by way of Client satisfaction and service offering progress & development
• Identification, development and implementation of asset and project asset builds wrt drawings, schedules and certificates by way of Complete Information Package for Silo
• Identification, development and implementation of design, operating and maintenance standards, procedures and specifications in line with technical & regulatory requirements, as well as, best industry practice, by way of Formalize Framework and Templates for all required documentation and implementation of Specification Standard of each discipline major components categories.
• Complete administration and management of all technical and financial work activities and as line manager complete administration and management of personnel and requirements, demonstrating adherence, completeness, accuracy & responsiveness by way of electronic & hard copy filings system, timesheets, personnel leave, overtime & appointments, and SAP financial & maintenance system
• Training & Competency Management
