Lab Analyst: Chemistry (NviroTek)

NviroTek is an independent ISO- 17025 accredited laboratory group that mainly serves the agricultural and food processing industries. We are looking for a dedicated laboratory analyst to join the team that are responsible for the analyses of feeds, plant materials, compost, fertilizer and soil.

* National Higher Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or relevant BSc Degree.
* 2 years relevant experience in chemical analyses of the matrices we test.
* First- hand experience on Laboratory instrumentation, e.g those handling the following techniques: pH meter, gravimetric methods in feeds, Dumas, flow analyses spectrophotometry, atomic absorption and ICP- spectrophotometry.
* The capacity to manage own workflow and understand how it fits into the analytical system, thereby anticipating obstacles and juggling priorities to meet commitments.
* The ability to plan own tasks and instrument utilisation within a dynamic environment, to ensure timeous output of results.
* Computer literacy and entry level skills in MS Office, but proficiency Excel.
* The passion and commitment to ensure that the highest standards of quality and efficiency are consistently maintained in line with the requirements of ISO 17025.
* The ability to interpret data and do fault finding, drawing well balanced conclusions when dealing with complex issues.


* Perform basic as well as most advanced laboratory analyses and operating of relevant instrumentation.
* Know the system of samples flow (including the laboratory software); through different phases from preparation to reporting.
* Basic calibration and maintenance of instruments used.
* Generate results, perform quality checks, and prepare final test reports. It is required that you become proficient as a technical signatory on specific techniques, within the guidelines of ISO 17025.
